What is a Record?

A Record is the sum of past achievements or exemplary performances of any person, organization or event. This valid information should one of its kind, be backed with evidences and can be measured and witnessed.

What is a World Record?

A World Record is usually the best global and most important performance that is ever recorded and officially verified in a specific skill, sport, or other kind of activity. A claimant must be able to prove this achievable, measurable, challengeable and recognizable incident with proper evidences. It may be either a personal achievement or an incident.

How is a World Record recognized?

There are numerous ways by which a record is officially recognized as a World Record. The most common process is by receiving a certification from PWR, by presenting a claim to PWR to spot the attempt as world record. In some cases, another human being might also claim the record on the behalf of another person/incident, our research team also actively search for something unique or extraordinary and recognizes it through “honoris causa”.

What is the process of becoming a World Record holder (attempting/breaking a record)?

The record setting process consists of four steps:
1. Record Application
2. Approval from PWR team
3. Record attempt following all the procedural guidelines
4. Sending the Claim Form along with evidence.
After receiving your confirmation along with your Claim ID; you need to follow the instructions mailed by PWR.

There are two Forms in the website of PWR; ‘Record Application Form’ and ‘Record Claim Form’ which Form I should submit?

If you are aiming to attempt a world record in future then you are required to fill the ‘Record Application Form’ and mail us. Our team will examine your form and mail you the ‘Record Specific Guideline’, which you are expected to follow at the time of the World Record attempt. This guideline will ensure that you get your chance to make the world record fair and square.

If you have already attempted a World Record (like collection of objects); then you are expected to fill the ‘Record Claim Form’ and mail us along with all evidences and witness statements for scrutiny and recognition.

Can I submit a record on behalf of someone else?

Yes, but 3rd party record claims are only accepted to us in special cases. You need to complete all the formalities and provide all the necessary evidences.

What is the World Record Claim application deadline?

You can submit the record claim any time after attempting the record; however, you must have all the required evidences related to your claimed record.

How long will it take for me to get a response to my record-breaking application?

As there are ample of applications received every day. It may take 6 to 8 weeks to respond to your application, however we try our best to get back to you as soon as possible.

How can I get On-the-Spot Recognition (OSR) of my World Record attempt?

For On-the-Spot Recognition; Records Management Judge (RMJ) must attend your event and verify your record immediately. You need to request for an RMJ.

Is it necessary to invite a judge/adjudicator for World Record approval?

No, it’s not necessary. You can send video recording and photographs along with all the required documents to our office for record approval. The Records Management Judge (RMJ) shall only be invited for on-the-spot recognition.

Are all the successfully attempted records are published on the website?

PWR works through an online portal which is updated every 24 hours for the convenience of the visitors and aspirants. We try to keep all the records on the website which are successfully attempted. Recently we have started the previous World Record holder section where we mention the names of previous World Record Holders at our official website.

I cannot find my World Record at the Website?

We try to present most World Records of all categories online. If you have recently set/broke a World Record then please check the site regularly; your achievement should be online within 2 months after the approval. If still you don’t find your record on the website then please contact us through our email.

Can I check the last attempted records detail at your website?

Yes, you may check our website for current and previous world records. We do provide the details of most of the records at our website that are successfully attempted till date.

I have found an error at your website, should I inform you?

We always welcome our readers, visitor or aspirants’ views and knowledge to update the World Record data. You are supposed to inform us of the corrections through email.

Can I use the logo of Pratishtha World record?

Yes, if you are a Pratishtha World record holder then you can use the logo and word mark of PWR. By becoming the Record holder of Pratishtha World record; you are taking up the responsibility of becoming our Brand Ambassador. We allow you to use the name and logo of PWR at your visiting cards, websites, letter heads, advertisements, endorsements etc. with prior notice of the same.

This is to be noted that only Pratishtha World Record holders are allowed to use the logo and wordmark of PWR on an exclusive basis. Anyone else who would use the logo is liable for strict legal actions against them.
