Record Detail:The World Record for the “Largest collection of books by an Individual” is achieved by Mr. Ankegowda M, Haralahalli, Pandavapura taluk, Mandya district, Karnataka, India. He has more than 1.5 million books in 15 Indian languages and several foreign languages that has been collected over 50 years. The collection includes 2500 titles on Mahatma Gandhi, 2500 editions of Bhagavad gita, nearly 6 lakh books in kannada and 5 lakh books in english language, the rest in hindi, marathi, tamil, telugu, bengali and many more. Also about 36000 international magazines and 15000 magazines in kannada language. He has displayed the house of books – Pustaka mane at “Ankegowda Jnana Prathistana” popularly known as “palace of books” in Pandavapura, Mandya district, Karnataka.
